Cheesy Christmas Stars

Cheesy Christmas Stars
If your children are anything like mine they love to help in the kitchen and the feeling of accomplishment when people try the foods they make.

This recipe is so incredibly easy that children can do it almost independently.

Ready Rolled Puff Pastry
1 Egg (beaten)
Grated Cheese
Pastry Brush
Star Cookie Cutter
Oven Tray
Baking Paper

If you child is old enough you could let them break and beat the egg and grate the cheese in preparation or you could prepare this for them.

1.) Preheat the oven to 200C

2.)Unroll the pastry.  Make sure you get it out of the fridge at least 15 minutes before you use it so it can get to room temperature.  If you use it straight from the fridge it can be tricky to unroll and may crack.

3.) Lay a piece of baking paper over your oven tray

4.) Using the cutter, cut star shapes out of the pastry and lay these on the baking paper.

5.) Brush the stars with the beaten egg

6.) Cover the stars with the grated cheese.  Try to keep the cheese on the star so they keep their shape after cooking.

7.) Here’s where adult help will be required – pop your stars in the oven for 12 minutes.

Voila your cheesy stars are completed!  The look fantastic and will be a real crowd pleaser!

Perfect for Christmas Party, Canapés with drinks or for Christmas tea!
